Storytelling is a creative way to use pictures. Put your learners into pairs or small groups. Ask them to use the image as the subject for a mini saga: - a mini saga is a story of exactly seventy words (you can specify another number, such as sixty if you wish) - it must tell a story, and not simply describe a situation - it can use some words from recent lessons - give your learners a list of words: for example, six nouns, six verbs, six adjectives, six adverbs and six conjunctions - their mini sagas must use at least three from each category - students first create their saga orally, and then write it down - each pair/group reads out its story and the class decides which is best
