EVP (English Vocabulary Profile)

EVP is an online vocabulary reference tool that categorises vocabulary items according to their CEFR level: A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 or C2.

It gives the pronunciation, part of speech, definition (in learner-friendly language from the Cambridge learner dictionaries), and at least one example sentence.

You have to register, but it's free.

There is a basic search function, and also an Advanced search that allows you to set a combination of filters to refine your search - for example, for adjectives describing people at B1 (intermediate) level.

I've made a short video to show you how to use EVP basics. Click on the play arrow to start: you can enter full screen mode at the bottom right.
